Mufti Abrar Mirza

Mufti Abrar began his Arabic and Islamic Studies at Benedictine University (Lisle, IL) while enrolled in a degree program in Information Systems. Simultaneously, he began Arabic studies at Darul Qasim (Glen Ellyn, IL). He later enrolled in a summer Arabic program at the Ma’had Ta’lim al-Islam in Elgin, IL, upon which he decided to continue his studies in the religious sciences and helped form the first batch of graduate students from the ‘Alim program. He thus had the good fortune to study under recognized scholars, including the renowned commentator of the Quran and former Shaykh al-Hadith of the Dar al-‘Ulum in Deoband, Mawlana Muhammad Na’im (may Allah have mercy on him), under whom he completed the study of Sahih al-Bukhari.

‍Mufti Abrar graduated from Benedictine University in 2006 with honors and a degree in Information Systems while simultaneously pursuing his Islamic studies full-time. He completed his ‘Alim course in 2007 and, thereafter, enrolled at Madrasah In’aamiyyah (Camperdown, South Africa) to specialize in the field of issuing legal verdicts (fatwas).  In 2009, Mufti Abrar completed his training under the tutelage of Mufti Ebrahim Desai (may Allah have mercy on him), a world renowned jurist and expert in Islamic finance.  He is also fortunate to have received authorization to narrate from forty-four books of hadith.

Mufti Abrar is the founder of the American Fiqh Academy and is active in the field of research and issuing legal verdicts (fatwas).  In addition, he is the Head Mufti at Darul Iftaa Chicago, where he trains ‘ulama in the field of issuing legal verdicts.

Dr. Mufti Yasir Nadeem al Wajidi

Dr. Mufti Yasir Nadeem al Wajidi is the founder and president of Burhan Academy. He is the founder/director of Darul Uloom Online and a lead teacher at Jamiatul Hasnain Indiana USA. He is a writer, public speaker and a debater. He has special interest in refuting atheism, gnosticism and apostasy. He graduated from Darul Uloom Deoband in the year 2001. He also completed a one-year course in the Arabic Language and Literature in 2002, and followed that with a one year Ifta (Legal Verdicts) course in 2003. In 2004, he moved to the United States of America to earn a postgraduate degree in Arabic literature in 2005. In 2012, he completed his Ph.D. at the International Islamic University, Malaysia and his area of specialization was the Prophetic Sciences.

Mufti Ehzaz Ajmeri

Mufti Ehzaz Ajmeri grew up in suburban Chicagoland. His pursuit of higher religious education led him to enroll in Dār al-ʿUlūm Zakariyya in South Africa where he spent seven years studying a rigorous ʿĀlim course under some of the country’s greatest scholars, including Mufti Raḍā al-Ḥaqq, from whom he received formal certifications (ijāzāt).After finishing the ʿĀlim course, Mufti Ehzaz continued his studies and enrolled in Madrasah Inʿāmiyyah in Camperdown, South Africa. There he spent an additional two years training in the field of iftāʾ (issuance of legal Islamic verdicts) under Mufti Ebrahim Desai, where his studies culminated in an ijāzah in iftāʾ from Mufti Desai.Upon returning to Chicago, Mufti Ehzaz served as a mufti in the Iftāʾ Department of Rahmat-e-Alam Foundation (Shariah Board of America). He also served as an Imam of Masjid al-Islam, Bolingbrook. Thereafter he taught at Darus Salam Academy, Lombard, from 2012–2017 as an instructor in intermediate and advanced fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence); introductory Arabic; introductory and intermediate Urdu; introduction to the science of Hadith; introduction to the Qurʾān; and classical logic for beginners.Mufti Ehzaz has additionally completed a BA in Philosophy from Elmhurst College. He currently serves as a lecturer in the Department of Islamic Law and in the Dār al-Iftāʾ department and simultaneously is pursuing a Masters in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Chicago.

Mufti Zeshan Ahmed

Mufti Zeshan Ahmed was born and raised in Springfield, OH. After moving to Chicago in his early teens, he enrolled at the Institute of Islamic Education (Elgin, IL) to memorize the Quran. Upon successful completion of his memorization in 2011, his desire for higher Islamic education led him to enroll in and successfully complete the ʿĀlim course at the same institute. In 2017, Mufti Zeshan decided to further his education by specializing in the field of issuing legal verdicts (iftāʾ) at Darul Iftaa Chicago under the tutelage of Mufti Abrar Mirza (may Allah protect him).Mufti Zeshan currently serves as the religious director at Masjid Uthman (Lombard, IL). He continues to pursue his Islamic education through specializing in the various modes of Quran recitation and serving as the assistant Mufti at Darul Iftaa Chicago. He currently lives in Lombard, IL with his wife and children.

Mufti Ibrahim Hamid

Mufti Ibrahim Hamid was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. He completed his ḥifẓ in 2009. Thereafter, he pursued his ʿĀlimiyyah studies at DarusSalam Seminary, where he received ijāzāt in various Islamic sciences, including Ḥadīth and Qirāʾāt. After graduating in 2019, he traveled to Malaysia and earned a master’s degree in Islamic Finance.Upon returning to Chicago, Mufti Ibrahim enrolled at Darul Iftaa Chicago to specialize in the field of issuing legal verdicts (iftāʾ) under the tutelage of Mufti Abrar Mirza. He completed the program in 2024 after four years of intensive training. In addition, Mufti Ibrahim is a Certified Sharīʿa Adviser and Auditor and has also received training in pastoral care.

Mufti Nabbil Khan

Mufti Nabbil Khan embarked on his journey of Islamic scholarship at the Institute of Islamic Education (IIE) in Elgin, IL, where he began his ʿĀlim course. His quest for deeper Islamic knowledge took him to the prestigious Jāmiʿat Dār al-ʿUlūm in Karachi, a center of Islamic learning recognized worldwide. There, he completed his Dars Niẓāmī studies, earning certification (ijāzah) from esteemed scholars such as Mufti Muḥammad Taqī al-ʿUthmānī, Mufti Muḥammad Rafīʿ al-ʿUthmānī, Mufti Maḥmūd Ashraf al-ʿUthmānī, and Mufti ʿAbd al-Raʿūf al-Sikharwī.Following his return to the United States, Mufti Nabbil specialized in the field of issuing legal verdicts (iftāʾ) at Darul Iftaa Chicago, under the guidance of Mufti Abrar Mirza. His scholarly endeavors have led him to contribute to the American Fiqh Academy, enhancing the understanding of Islamic jurisprudence in the contemporary context.Mufti Nabbil leads workshops at the intersection of Islam and technology and has founded entrepreneurial ventures in Healthcare and Emerging Technologies. Motivated by a desire to revive ethical entrepreneurship and thought leadership in emerging technologies, his work is grounded in the aspiration to make a meaningful impact while preserving the faith for future generations.
